About the Role
Our client is seeking a creative and technically skilled Product Development Technologist to join their innovative team in Southampton . This role is integral to the conception, development, and launch of new and improved FMCG products. You will conduct research, formulate new products, ensure compliance with quality and safety standards, and collaborate with manufacturing to scale up production. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate food scientist or technologist to contribute to the pipeline of exciting new products within a leading company in the fast-paced FMCG market, working at the forefront of product innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, develop, and formulate new FMCG products from idea to launch.
- Conduct laboratory-scale trials, pilot plant runs, and scale-up activities for new product introductions.
- Ensure all product development activities comply with food safety regulations, quality standards, and customer specifications.
- Perform shelf-life studies, sensory evaluations, and nutritional analysis for new and existing products.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, procurement, and manufacturing teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Prepare product specifications and documentation for regulatory approval and production.
Requirements
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- Experience in product development within the FMCG food industry is essential.
- Strong understanding of food chemistry, processing techniques, and food safety principles (HACCP, BRC).
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and experimental design.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
