Product Development Technologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and innovative Product Development Technologist to join their R&D team in Reading , contributing to the creation of new and improved FMCG products. This role involves working hands-on in product formulation, testing, and scaling up processes from laboratory to pilot plant and full production. You will collaborate closely with marketing, quality assurance, and operations teams to bring exciting new concepts to market that meet consumer needs and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and formulate new FMCG products, ensuring they meet defined quality, cost, and performance targets.
• Conduct extensive product testing and analysis, documenting results and recommending improvements.
• Scale up product formulations from benchtop to pilot and manufacturing levels, troubleshooting any issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sensory evaluation, and operations, to ensure successful product launches.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and competitor activities to drive product innovation.

Requirements

• Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in product development , preferably within the FMCG sector.
• Hands-on experience with product formulation, laboratory testing, and scale-up processes.
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality management systems.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a passion for innovation in the food and beverage industry in Reading .
