About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative and technically skilled Product Development Technologist to join their team in Derby , focusing on the creation of exciting new products within the FMCG sector. This hands-on role involves researching, developing, and testing new product formulations and concepts, ensuring they meet consumer needs and quality standards. You will collaborate closely with the wider product innovation team, marketing, and manufacturing to bring groundbreaking products to market. Key Responsibilities
- Research and develop new product formulations and concepts according to market trends and consumer insights.
- Conduct laboratory-based product testing and analysis to ensure quality, safety, and efficacy.
- Scale up product formulations from lab bench to pilot plant and full-scale manufacturing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, marketing, and production, throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Document all research, development, and testing procedures according to company and regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot technical issues that arise during product development and manufacturing.
Requirements
- Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- Experience in product development , preferably within the FMCG industry.
- Strong understanding of food science principles, formulation, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and analytical equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
