Product Development Technologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a passionate and skilled Product Development Technologist to join their innovative team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is central to creating and refining new FMCG products, ensuring they meet quality, safety, and market standards. You will work closely with R&D, marketing, and production teams to bring new concepts from ideation to shelf. This is an excellent opportunity for a food science or product development professional to contribute to the success of a leading FMCG brand.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and reformulate FMCG products according to project briefs and consumer needs .
• Conduct laboratory trials and pilot plant tests to assess product viability and scale-up potential.
• Ensure all new products comply with relevant food safety regulations and quality standards.
• Prepare product specifications, documentation, and samples for internal and external review.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Support production teams during the launch phase to ensure smooth manufacturing processes.

Requirements

• Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• Experience in product development , preferably within the FMCG sector.
• Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes and quality control principles.
• Excellent laboratory skills and experience with analytical techniques.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Familiarity with Stoke-on-Trent 's manufacturing landscape is a plus.
