About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Production Chemist to join their operational team in Oxford . This role is integral to maintaining the efficiency and integrity of production processes by monitoring and optimizing chemical treatments and performance. You will analyze production fluids, troubleshoot chemical-related issues, and ensure compliance with environmental standards. Working closely with production engineers and field personnel, you will play a key role in enhancing hydrocarbon recovery and managing operational challenges in the oil and gas industry . This on-site role is essential for hands-on process support and optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze production fluid samples (oil, water, gas) for chemical composition and quality.
- Develop, implement, and optimize chemical treatment programs for production systems, including scale and corrosion inhibitors.
- Troubleshoot chemical-related production issues, such as emulsion formation, hydrate plugs, and scale deposition .
- Conduct laboratory testing and analysis to evaluate the performance of production chemicals.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding chemical handling and disposal.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement chemical solutions that improve production efficiency and asset integrity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Production Chemist or in a similar role within the oil and gas industry .
- Strong understanding of production chemistry principles, including fluid properties and phase behavior.
- Experience with chemical analysis techniques and laboratory instrumentation.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations related to chemical usage and disposal.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
