About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Production Chemist to join their operations team based in Belfast . This role is critical for ensuring the quality and efficiency of chemical processes involved in the production of oil and gas products. You will be responsible for monitoring chemical parameters, troubleshooting process issues, and optimizing chemical treatments to enhance production performance and asset integrity. This is an exciting opportunity for a chemist with a strong understanding of industrial chemical applications within the challenging environment of the Oil & Gas industry .
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze production fluid samples to assess quality and identify potential issues.
- Develop and optimize chemical injection strategies to prevent corrosion, scaling, and hydrate formation.
- Troubleshoot chemical process upsets and implement effective solutions to maintain production efficiency.
- Conduct laboratory analysis to support production chemistry operations.
- Collaborate with production engineers and field operators to implement best practices in chemical management.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding chemical usage and disposal.
- Prepare technical reports on chemical performance and recommendations for process improvements.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Production Chemist or in a similar role within the Oil & Gas industry .
- Strong knowledge of oilfield chemicals, water treatment, and corrosion/scaling inhibitors.
- Proficiency in laboratory analytical techniques and interpretation of results.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with experience working in a Belfast -based facility.
