About the Role
Our client seeks a dedicated Production Chemist to join their innovative team in Glasgow, Scotland . This role is vital for ensuring the optimal performance and integrity of production processes within the oil and gas sector, focusing on chemical treatment programs and operational efficiency. You will analyze production data, identify chemical challenges, and develop solutions to enhance recovery and minimize operational issues. This hybrid role allows for a balance between crucial on-site laboratory work and strategic planning from a remote setting, offering a dynamic work experience for a skilled chemist looking to make a tangible impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze production fluid samples to monitor performance and identify potential issues.
- Develop, implement, and optimize chemical injection strategies for oil and gas wells.
- Troubleshoot production chemistry challenges, including corrosion, scaling, and emulsion formation.
- Conduct laboratory testing to evaluate the effectiveness of scale inhibitors, corrosion inhibitors, and other production chemicals.
- Collaborate with production engineers and field staff to ensure effective implementation of chemical programs.
- Maintain accurate records of chemical usage, performance data, and recommendations.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in production chemistry within the oil and gas industry.
- Knowledge of oilfield chemicals, water treatment, and corrosion/scale monitoring.
- Experience with laboratory analysis techniques and spectroscopic methods .
- Ability to interpret production data and make informed chemical recommendations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
