Production Planner & Scheduler

About the Role

Our client is seeking an organized and efficient Production Planner & Scheduler to join their team in Reading . This role is essential for ensuring that production schedules are optimized to meet customer demand while managing resources effectively. You will be responsible for creating detailed production plans, coordinating with various departments, and monitoring progress to ensure timely delivery of goods. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity.
• Coordinate with sales, purchasing, and production teams to ensure smooth material flow and production execution.
• Monitor production progress and make necessary adjustments to schedules to address deviations or delays.
• Optimize production runs to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime and changeover times.
• Generate reports on production performance, schedule adherence, and key planning metrics.
• Collaborate with the production team to forecast resource needs (labor, materials, equipment).

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Production Planner or Scheduler in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of production planning principles, MRP systems, and inventory management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy.
• Proficiency in planning software and Microsoft Excel.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaunt with different departments.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
