About the Role

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Production Planner to join their manufacturing operations based in Edinburgh . This crucial role involves managing the production schedule, ensuring timely and efficient manufacturing of products while optimizing resource utilization. You will be the central point of contact for coordinating production activities, liaising with various departments to forecast demand and manage inventory levels effectively. This position is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of manufacturing workflows, who thrives in a structured and deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain accurate production schedules based on demand forecasts, capacity, and material availability.
Coordinate with sales, procurement, and production teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely order fulfillment.
Monitor production progress against the schedule, identifying and resolving any deviations or delays.
Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, implementing just-in-time principles where applicable.
Generate production reports, analyze performance data, and provide insights for planning improvements.
Ensure efficient utilization of plant capacity and labor resources.

Requirements

Proven experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and ERP systems.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills with a keen eye for detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other planning software.
Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
