Production Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and proactive Production Planner to join their manufacturing team in Edinburgh . This role is fundamental to ensuring that production schedules are created, managed, and executed efficiently to meet demand while optimizing resource utilization. You will be the lynchpin connecting sales forecasts, inventory levels, and shop floor capacity, playing a vital role in the smooth operation of the manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity.
• Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
• Liaise with the production floor supervisors to monitor progress against schedules and address any deviations or bottlenecks.
• Communicate production plans and schedule changes to relevant stakeholders across departments.
• Analyze production data to identify trends and recommend improvements to planning processes.
• Manage work-in-progress inventory and ensure efficient material flow through the production process.

Requirements

• Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, or a related role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain dynamics.
• Proficiency with production planning software or ERP systems.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with various teams.
