Production Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and proactive Production Planner to join their manufacturing team in Glasgow . This role is fundamental to ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of production by creating and managing accurate production schedules. You will be responsible for coordinating materials, labor, and equipment to meet production demands while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing lead times. This hybrid position offers flexibility, allowing you to contribute effectively from both the office and home, supporting a critical function within the manufacturing supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts and capacity constraints.
• Coordinate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
• Monitor production progress, identify potential delays, and implement proactive solutions to keep schedules on track.
• Optimize production plans to maximize machine utilization and minimize downtime and changeover times.
• Generate reports on production performance, inventory levels, and schedule adherence for management review.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding production schedules and any deviations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Production Planner or in a similar planning or scheduling role within manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of production processes, supply chain management, and inventory control principles.
• Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems and planning software.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
