About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organized and analytical Production Planner to join their manufacturing operations in Bradford . This role is critical in ensuring the efficient flow of production by creating detailed schedules that meet demand while optimizing resource utilization. You will work closely with various departments, including sales, procurement, and production, to forecast needs, manage inventory levels, and resolve any scheduling conflicts. This hybrid position allows for both on-site collaboration and remote work flexibility, enabling you to contribute effectively to the company's planning strategies. The ideal candidate will possess strong logistical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail to maintain smooth production workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and communicate detailed production schedules to meet customer orders and internal demand.
- Monitor production progress against schedules, identifying and resolving any variances or potential delays.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Manage inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to optimize stock holding costs.
- Work closely with the sales and operations teams to forecast demand and plan production capacity accordingly.
- Analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management, inventory control, and production processes.
- Proficiency in using planning software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
