About the Role
Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations within their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient production flow, maintaining high-quality standards, and leading a dedicated team of production operatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen eye for operational detail, and a commitment to fostering a safe and productive work environment. You will be instrumental in achieving production targets and driving continuous improvement within the manufacturing department.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of production staff to ensure daily targets for volume, quality, and efficiency are met.
- Monitor production processes, identify deviations, and implement immediate corrective actions to minimize downtime and waste.
- Ensure all staff adhere to safety regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and training to production team members.
- Manage the allocation of resources, including personnel and materials, to optimize production schedules.
- Collaborate with maintenance and quality control departments to ensure equipment is functioning optimally and products meet stringent quality standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Demonstrable understanding of production processes, quality control, and health and safety regulations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in using production management software and standard office applications.
- Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions in a fast-paced setting.
