Location: London Salary: £50,000 + Benefits Hays are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced PMO Manager to support a high-profile healthcare redevelopment programme that will drive significant transformation across healthcare services and infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to join a complex and large-scale capital programme, supporting the governance, planning, assurance, and reporting functions within a Programme Management Office. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth delivery of a major redevelopment project with far-reaching benefits for patients, staff, and the wider community. The Opportunity Working as part of an established PMO, you will provide robust programme management support across multiple workstreams, ensuring effective governance, risk management, reporting, planning, and assurance processes are embedded throughout the programme life cycle.This role would suit an experienced PMO professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working closely with senior stakeholders to deliver large-scale, complex programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Support the delivery of a major capital redevelopment programme. Maintain programme governance frameworks and assurance processes. Develop and monitor programme plans, schedules, risks, and dependencies. Produce high-quality reports, board papers, and programme documentation. Coordinate governance meetings and ensure actions are tracked to completion. Monitor programme performance and highlight key risks and issues. Drive continuous improvement and lessons-learned activities. Work collaboratively with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.What We're Looking For
Significant PMO, Programme Management, or Project Management Office experience within complex environments. Strong governance, reporting, and assurance experience. Proven experience supporting senior leaders, boards, and executive stakeholders. Advanced planning and scheduling skills, including extensive use of MS Project. Excellent organisational, analytical, and stakeholder management skills. Experience managing risks, dependencies, and programme controls. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.Desirable Experience While sector-specific experience is not essential, candidates with experience in the following areas will be highly regarded:
NHS or Healthcare Capital Projects Public Sector Programmes Major Infrastructure or Construction Projects Large-scale Transformation Programmes New Hospital Programme experience Green Book Five Case Model NEC Contracts Governance and Board ReportingQualifications Ideally, candidates will hold one or more of the following:
