Project Chemical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Chemical Engineer to manage and execute capital projects within their facilities in Belfast . This role requires a blend of technical engineering expertise and strong project management skills to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from conceptualization and design through to commissioning and handover. This is a critical role for driving growth and modernization within the company's infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage assigned capital projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and schedule.
• Develop project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and risk management strategies.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of process equipment and facilities.
• Ensure all projects comply with company standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare project reports and present progress updates to senior management.

Requirements

• Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or equivalent, with a degree in Chemical Engineering .
• Significant experience (5+ years) in managing chemical engineering projects.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a complex industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of relevant engineering codes and standards.
