Project Chemical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Chemical Engineer to manage and execute chemical engineering projects in Portsmouth . This role combines project management responsibilities with technical chemical engineering expertise, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. You will oversee projects from initiation through to completion, coordinating with internal teams and external contractors. This hybrid role offers a fantastic opportunity to lead impactful projects in a supportive team environment, contributing to the company's growth and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage chemical engineering projects from conception through to commissioning and handover.
• Develop project scope, budgets, and timelines, and ensure adherence to them.
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines, procurement, construction, and operations teams.
• Ensure all projects comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during project execution.
• Prepare project reports, documentation, and conduct project review meetings.

Requirements

• Chartered Engineer status or working towards it (e.g., IChemE).
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in chemical engineering project management or execution.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering capital projects in the chemical or process industry.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with P&IDs, PFDs, and process safety management.
