The role will support the coordination and delivery of water infrastructure projects, helping to ensure activities across multiple sites and workstreams are planned effectively, progress is tracked, and project teams remain aligned. This role offers hybrid working, with 2 days a week in the office. Here's what you'll do:
- Act as a key link between project engineers, contractors, water company representatives and client stakeholders, supporting the effective coordination of water and wastewater project activities.
- Work closely with workstream leads to update project forecasts, coordinate invitations for suppliers to quote, and support commercial processes relating to planned works and infrastructure delivery.
- Maintain clear, accurate project trackers, schedules and reports, providing visibility of progress, upcoming activities, risks and dependencies across multiple sites and workstreams.
- Coordinate surveys, site visits and follow-on activities associated with water and wastewater infrastructure, confirming site access, dates, contractor availability and dependencies to support efficient delivery.
- Follow up on actions, capture outcomes and ensure information flows effectively between project teams, engineers and contractors to minimise repeat site visits, delays and duplicated effort.
- Provide concise updates during project meetings, circulate actions and monitor completion to keep workstreams on track against programme milestones.
- Share relevant information across related workstreams, identifying opportunities to align site activities, coordinate resources and improve efficiencies across the wider programme.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues, workstream leads, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders involved in the delivery of water industry projects.
- Support the coordination of planned works, ensuring project information, site arrangements and programme updates are communicated accurately and in a timely manner.
- Operate confidently in a people-focused coordination role, managing multiple priorities and communicating effectively via phone, email and collaborative project management tools. Here's what you'll need:
- Experience in project coordination, scheduling, project administration or programme support, ideally within infrastructure, utilities, water and wastewater, construction or a similar delivery environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships, actively listen and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A strategic mindset, with the ability to understand how individual projects, site activities and workstreams interlink across a wider infrastructure programme.
- The ability to absorb and organise large amounts of information, from technical engineering requirements and site activities to supplier quotations, forecasts and commercial processes.
- Confidence using Excel to maintain project trackers, schedules, action logs and progress reports, alongside collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently across multiple projects, managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- A proactive approach to identifying potential delays, gaps in information and dependencies that could affect the delivery of water and wastewater works.
- An understanding of the challenges associated with coordinating infrastructure projects across multiple sites, contractors and stakeholders would be advantageous.
- Experience within the water, utilities, telecommunications or construction sectors would be beneficial but is not essential, as transferable project coordination experience will also be considered
