About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and commercially astute Property Development Surveyor to join their growing team in Derby . This role is integral to identifying and evaluating development opportunities, managing projects from inception to completion, and ensuring profitability. You will work closely with land owners, planning authorities, contractors, and investors to bring new developments to fruition. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced surveyor to play a key role in shaping the built environment and contributing to significant projects within the Derby and wider East Midlands region, driving innovation and value.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and assess potential development sites, conducting feasibility studies and market analysis.
• Prepare detailed development appraisals and financial models to support investment decisions.
• Manage the planning application process, liaising with local authorities and stakeholders.
• Oversee project delivery, including budget management, contractor selection, and contract administration.
• Negotiate land acquisitions and development agreements with landowners.
• Provide technical and commercial advice throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Qualified Surveyor (MRICS or equivalent) with specific experience in property development .
• Strong understanding of the development process, planning regulations, and construction methods.
• Excellent commercial acumen, financial modeling skills, and negotiation abilities.
• Proven track record of managing successful development projects.
• Knowledge of the Derby and East Midlands property development market is essential.
