Job Description
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Property Surveyor to join a busy and established housing association in Loanhead, Midlothian. This is an excellent Full-time long-term opportunity, making it ideal for someone looking for stability while working on a varied and important programme of property surveying and assessment. The successful candidate will play a key role in assessing the condition of properties, identifying required works and helping ensure homes are maintained to the appropriate standards.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will include:
- Carrying out detailed property condition surveys across housing stock.
- Undertaking reconditioning and reassessment surveys to establish the current condition of properties.
- Identifying defects, maintenance requirements and improvement works.
- Assessing what works are required to bring properties up to the required standard.
- Producing clear and accurate survey reports and recommendations.
- Inspecting properties and recording findings accurately.
- Working closely with housing, maintenance and other internal teams to ensure required works are properly identified and progressed.
- Providing professional advice on property condition and potential remedial works.
- Ensuring surveys and records are completed accurately and in line with relevant standards and procedures.
About You
We are looking for a confident and experienced Property Surveyor who understands the challenges of managing and maintaining residential housing stock. Ideally, you will have previous experience working within a housing association, local authority or similar property environment and have a strong understanding of property condition, maintenance and refurbishment requirements. You should have:
- Previous experience in a property surveying role.
- Experience surveying residential properties and identifying required works.
- A good understanding of building maintenance, defects and refurbishment.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate reporting skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to work independently while also working effectively with wider teams.
