We're looking for enthusiastic Psychology Graduates to join a specialist school in Hertfordshire as SEN Teaching Assistants.
If you're thinking about a future in Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, Therapy, Mental Health, Teaching or Social Care, this role will give you the opportunity to develop valuable practical experience in a supportive professional environment.
What Makes This Role Different? You'll work directly with children and young people aged 6-19, helping them overcome barriers to learning and develop their communication, confidence and independence.
You'll also work alongside experienced teachers, therapists and healthcare professionals, giving you valuable insight into different professional approaches and career pathways.
Students may have needs including:
Autism
Adhd
Learning difficulties Communication needs Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs Your Day-to-Day Role You'll help students to:
Engage with learning and classroom activities. Develop communication and social skills. Build confidence and independence. Manage emotions and develop positive routines. Participate in individual and group activities. You'll also provide 1:1 and small-group support, contribute to a safe and nurturing environment, and provide personal care where required.
Are You the Right Person? You could be a great fit if you are:
A Psychology graduate with an interest in working with children. Considering a career in psychology, therapy, education, mental health or social care. Patient, empathetic and resilient. A strong communicator. Comfortable working as part of a wider professional team. Keen to learn and develop. GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) are essential.
