About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Public Affairs Officer to join their team, working a hybrid schedule from Wolverhampton, West Midlands, UK . This crucial role involves monitoring policy developments, engaging with key stakeholders, and communicating our client's position on relevant public affairs issues. You will be responsible for developing strategic communication materials and building relationships with government officials, NGOs, and industry bodies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the political and regulatory landscape, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to articulate complex information clearly and persuasively, working effectively both in the office and remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze relevant legislative and policy developments affecting the organization and its clients.
- Develop and implement effective public affairs strategies to support organizational objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, government officials, and other key stakeholders.
- Draft position papers, policy briefs, consultation responses, and advocacy materials.
- Represent the organization at relevant industry events, forums, and meetings.
- Coordinate public affairs campaigns and communication efforts.
Requirements
- Proven experience (4+ years) in public affairs, government relations, policy analysis, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of the UK political landscape and public policy processes.
- Excellent analytical, research, and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of stakeholder engagement and advocacy techniques.
- Ability to manage complex issues and communicate them effectively to diverse audiences.
- Experience with hybrid working models, demonstrating effective remote collaboration.
