About the Role
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Public Relations Officer to join their team in Derby . This role is crucial for managing day-to-day media relations, crafting compelling press materials, and supporting the overall communications strategy. You will be responsible for liaising with journalists, monitoring media coverage, and assisting in the planning and execution of PR campaigns. Key Responsibilities
- Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and statements.
- Respond to media inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Build and maintain relationships with local and national media contacts.
- Monitor and clip media coverage, compiling reports on PR activities.
- Assist in the planning and execution of press events and promotional activities.
- Support the Communications Manager in developing and implementing PR strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in a PR or communications support role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with media monitoring tools and techniques.
- A proactive approach and a willingness to learn in the Derby area.
