Our client, a key player in the FMCG sector , is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join their team in Derby . This role is essential for managing the procurement of raw materials, packaging, and services necessary for the company's production processes. You will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods while maintaining quality standards. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to meet the company's needs for raw materials and packaging.
• Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, reliability, and ethical standards.
• Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers.
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure consistent supply and identify opportunities for collaboration.
• Monitor market trends and commodity prices to inform purchasing decisions and mitigate risks.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and sustainability goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, with significant exposure to the FMCG industry .
• Proven negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles and inventory management.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
