About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and organised Purchasing Officer to join their dynamic procurement team in Coventry . This role is instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient acquisition of goods and services essential for the company's operations. Working within a hybrid model, you will balance office-based collaboration with remote flexibility, contributing to the optimisation of purchasing processes and supplier relationships. You will be a key point of contact for internal departments and external vendors, ensuring timely procurement and adherence to budget guidelines, supporting the wider operational goals of the organisation through effective purchasing strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase requisitions and orders efficiently and accurately.
- Source and evaluate potential suppliers, obtaining quotes and negotiating prices where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier information, and contract terms.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Assist in managing inventory levels and identifying potential stock-outs or overstock situations.
- Support the Purchasing Manager in developing and implementing procurement policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, or administrative role is advantageous.
- Familiarity with procurement processes and principles.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with suppliers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with ERP systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively in a hybrid work environment.
