About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and diligent Quality Assurance Manager to lead their quality initiatives within the aerospace sector in Sunderland . This pivotal role involves developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's quality management systems to ensure compliance with international aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100). You will be responsible for driving a culture of quality throughout the organization, leading audits, and ensuring product conformity and continuous improvement. This is a senior position offering the opportunity to shape quality strategies and contribute significantly to the company's reputation for excellence and reliability in the Sunderland area.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100 and other relevant aerospace standards.
- Conduct internal and external audits to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Manage and mentor the Quality Assurance team, fostering a proactive approach to quality control and assurance.
- Oversee the non-conformance reporting and corrective action process, driving root cause analysis and implementing effective preventative measures.
- Monitor key quality metrics, analyze trends, and report on the effectiveness of the QMS to senior management.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies on quality-related matters, ensuring strong relationships and clear communication.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Management within the aerospace or a similarly regulated industry.
- In-depth knowledge of AS9100 standards and audit procedures.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and quality improvement methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Relevant degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field is highly desirable for this role in Sunderland .
