Quality Inspector - Precision Manufacturing

Are you a hands-on Quality Inspector who enjoys being on the shop floor, working closely with production and ensuring high-precision components meet the highest standards?
We are recruiting for multiple Quality Inspectors to join a growing advanced manufacturing business producing complex components for highly regulated industries. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a modern machine shop environment, using a wide range of inspection equipment and CMM technology.
The Role
As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspections of precision machined components, ensuring all products meet customer specifications and quality requirements.
This is a practical, hands-on inspection role suited to someone with a strong machining or manufacturing background who is confident reading engineering drawings and using a variety of inspection equipment.
Key Responsibilities
First-off, in-process and final inspection of machined components Inspection of complex precision-engineered parts to tight tolerances Use of manual inspection equipment including: Verniers Micrometers Height Gauges Bore Gauges Surface Measurement Equipment Operating CMM equipment and interpreting results Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T Completing inspection reports and quality documentation Supporting non-conformance investigations and quality improvements Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and Production teams Ensuring compliance with customer and internal quality standards
What We're Looking For
Previous experience as a Quality Inspector within a machine shop or precision engineering environment Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing (GD&T) Experience using a variety of manual measuring equipment Experience operating CMMs Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills A proactive and hands-on approach to quality
Desirable Experience
Aerospace, Defence, Automotive or Advanced Manufacturing background Knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001 or similar quality systems Experience with Zeiss, Mitutoyo, PC DMIS or other CMM platforms Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
