Job Description
Quality Manager
Our client, a leading organisation in the power distribution and transmission sector, is seeking a Quality Manager to support major 400kV+ substation and transmission and distribution projects. This permanent role will oversee quality assurance activities, promote consistent standards and ensure that project delivery meets contractual, technical and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor activities supporting Project Quality Plans, Contractors' Quality Plans and Inspection and Test Plans Support project teams in developing Inspection and Test Plans, quality checklists and related documentation Work closely with site engineers to ensure quality processes are consistently implemented on site Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with quality policies, procedures and contract requirements Maintain accurate quality records and provide clear reports to project and client teams Coordinate the investigation and closure of non-conformities and performance improvement actions Review contractor and supplier quality documentation, including Quality Plans and pre-qualification information Provide quality guidance, coaching and support across 400kV+ substation and transmission and distribution projects
Job Requirements:
Experience in quality management within power distribution, transmission and distribution or major infrastructure projects Relevant experience and qualifications relating to high-voltage and low-voltage transmission and distribution systems Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems, quality assurance processes and audit requirements HNC, HND, degree or equivalent experience in Quality Management; an engineering qualification would be desirable Relevant CSCS card or competency skills card where site-based work is required Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with project teams, contractors and clients Proficiency in standard computer programmes, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint Strong time management, attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coach and mentor others
