Job Description
TristoneNash are assisting a consultancy in London in their search for Quantity Surveyor with client-side housing experience. You will be office based four days per week and one from home in central London.
Job role:
- Take responsibility for delivering a programme of cladding fire/building safety remediation and new build construction projects within agreed profitability and resource constraints, all in accordance with the individually agreed scope of services for each project.
- Proactively monitor each project and report any potential risks to project profitability, service delivery and client deadlines/targets.
- Lead and manage projects from initial concept through to completion, undertaking the duties of Employer’s Agent / Contract Administrator / Project Manager.
- Work under the direction of a member of the Development Consultancy team or as part of a project group.
- Use and maintain in accordance with our procedures file and accounting management systems (Newforma & Rapport 3)
- To provide preliminary and detailed cost estimates and cost plans for new build & fire remediation schemes based techniques appropriate to the level of information available including measurement of externals and estimation of abnormals.
- Provide cost estimates and management for improvement and repairs on existing buildings, based on general survey information, unit rates and allowance for particular circumstances.
- Provide cost estimates for both new build and works to existing buildings based on a build up of elemental costs.
- Present all costs in a standard format and in compliance with the RICS NRM based on an Excel worksheets or similar.
- To act as the job Quantity Surveyor, on projects where the appointment is under the traditional forms of contract.
Experience required:
- Work under the direction of a member of the Development Consultancy team or as part of a project group.
- Demonstrate a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office software package (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, MS Project etc).
- Participate in learning and development activities as part of a programme of Continuing Professional Development, including actively seeking to attain membership of a Chartered professional body e.g. RICS/CIOB.
- Any other duties which are commensurate with these roles
