About the Role

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join their established team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is vital for managing all costs relating to construction projects, from initial calculations to final figures. You will ensure that all projects are completed within budget, while maintaining the required standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills, working collaboratively with project managers and clients to achieve optimal financial outcomes for complex construction ventures.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
• Analyse costs and oversee tendering processes for projects.
• Manage contracts, including variations, claims, and disputes.
• Provide cost advice and financial reporting to senior management and clients.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and identify potential cost-saving measures.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and financial regulations.

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction sector.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and cost management principles .
• Proficiency in cost estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
