About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Quantity Surveyor to join our team and take responsibility for the commercial management of a diverse portfolio of hard services, facilities management and construction projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who enjoys working across both planned and reactive hard services and capital construction projects, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and within agreed budgets.
You will work closely with project managers, operational teams, contractors and clients, providing strong commercial oversight from initial scope and procurement through to completion and final account.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of hard services and construction projects.

Prepare, review and manage project budgets, cost plans, forecasts and valuations.
*
Support the procurement and tendering of contractors, subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
*
Prepare and evaluate tender documentation, quotations and commercial submissions.
*
Review contractor applications for payment and certify valuations where appropriate.
*
Manage variations, change control, compensation events and commercial risks.
*
Monitor project costs against approved budgets and provide regular financial reporting.
*
Prepare and agree final accounts with contractors and suppliers.
*
Provide commercial advice to project and operational teams.
*
Review contracts, scope of works and contractor performance.
*
Identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering.
*
Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure appropriate governance and reporting.
*
Support the delivery of planned maintenance, lifecycle replacement and hard services projects, including mechanical, electrical and building services works.
*
Provide commercial support on construction and refurbishment projects, from pre-construction through to completion.
*
Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders.
Experience & Qualifications
*
Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, facilities management, building services or a related environment.
*
Experience of managing the commercial aspects of hard services projects, ideally covering M&E, mechanical, electrical or building services.
*
Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement and commercial management.
*
Experience in cost planning, forecasting, valuations, variations and final accounts.
*
Excellent numerical, analytical and negotiation skills.
*
Strong communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
*
Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
*
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and relevant commercial/project management systems.
*
Relevant Quantity Surveying or commercial qualification is desirable.
*
MRICS or working towards MRICS would be advantageous.
