Quantity Surveyor

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is integral to the financial management of construction projects, from inception to completion. You will be responsible for cost estimation, contract administration, and ensuring commercial viability across various projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail, contributing to the financial success of our operations within the Tyne and Wear region.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all costs relating to building projects, from initial calculations to final figures.
• Provide advice on procurement strategy, contract arrangements, and risk management.
• Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
• Undertake cost analysis and provide cost forecasts for project expenditure.
• Negotiate and agree on contract variations and final accounts.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and identify potential financial risks.

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
• In-depth knowledge of construction processes, contracts, and costs.
• Proficiency in relevant surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
