Quantity Surveyor

About the Role

Our client requires a diligent and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join their team managing construction projects in and around Leeds . This role is critical for ensuring the financial viability and contractual compliance of construction projects. You will be responsible for cost management, contract administration, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle, from inception to final account settlement. Working in a hybrid capacity, you'll balance site-based assessments with office-based financial planning and reporting, playing a key role in the commercial success of our client's ventures in Yorkshire.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all costs relating to building projects, from initial estimates to final calculations.
• Prepare and submit tenders, bills of quantities, and contract documents.
• Administer construction contracts, including managing variations, claims, and disputes.
• Monitor project expenditure against budget, providing regular financial reports to senior management.
• Conduct site visits to assess progress, identify potential cost overruns, and verify valuations.
• Negotiate with contractors and subcontractors to secure the best outcomes for the project.

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, preferably within the UK .
• Strong understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC) and tendering processes.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict financial deadlines.
