Job Description
We are recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Tier 1 main contractor delivering major new-build commercial construction projects.
*Candidates must be located with in 1 hour of Lincoln to be considered for this position.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established company working on high-quality projects across the region. The successful candidate will take commercial responsibility for projects and packages from procurement through construction and final account.
Key Responsibilities
* Commercial management of new-build construction projects and subcontract packages
* Procurement, negotiation and appointment of subcontractors
* Preparation and management of subcontract documentation
* Measurement, valuations and assessment of subcontractor applications
* Preparation of monthly cost reports, CVRs and project forecasts
* Management of variations, change control and contractual notices
* Monitoring project costs, value and cash flow against agreed budgets
* Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and the wider commercial team
* Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
* Client liaison and agreement of valuations and variations
* Management and negotiation of subcontractor final accounts
* Assisting with the preparation and agreement of the project final account
* Ensuring projects are commercially controlled in accordance with company procedures
Candidate Requirements
* Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, minimum 5 years experience.
* Strong new-build construction experience
* Experience working on commercial projects or other major building projects
* Good knowledge of construction contracts and subcontract procurement
* Strong understanding of cost reporting, forecasting and CVRs
* Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
* Able to manage subcontract packages with minimal supervision
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Relevant Quantity Surveying or construction qualification preferred
