Mercury Hampton Ltd | Newton-le-Willows, near Warrington/ Opening a new office in Manchester

Multi-award-winning business — recognised for Employer of the Year, Scale-up Business of the Year and Innovation Business of the Year.

We’re adding experienced recruitment professionals to our team. Attitude, communication, motivation and a strong work ethic are prerequisites.

You know how to recruit. What could you do with the right backing?

Perhaps you’ve built a successful desk, but your next step looks much the same as your last one.

Perhaps you want to work on more substantial assignments, develop international markets or build stronger relationships with the people making the hiring decisions.

Or perhaps you’d simply like to be trusted to get on with the job, with experienced people available when you need them.

If that sounds familiar, we should have a conversation.

At Mercury Hampton, we recruit commercial, technical and operational people for engineering, manufacturing and technology businesses around the world.

The work is varied. A technical sales appointment in Europe. A commercial leadership search in the United States. A General Manager responsible for an Asia-Pacific business.

These assignments need more than a CV and a hopeful introduction. They need someone who can understand a business, challenge a brief, engage good people and manage a process through to a successful appointment.

If that’s the kind of recruiter you are—or want to become—there’s an opportunity here.

A business run by people who still do the job

Mercury Hampton was founded in 2017 by two highly experienced recruitment professionals who still work on the front line.

They understand that a difficult search won’t be solved by asking why you haven’t made another ten calls. They also understand that a successful desk takes consistent effort, commercial judgement and ownership.

We’ve built a financially secure business that invests in its people, technology and future. We’re looking for experienced recruiters who want to help build the next stage of it.

Here’s what we can offer you…

• Ownership of your market - The opportunity to develop a specialist practice, win clients and grow accounts, with clear commercial objectives and the freedom to decide how best to achieve them.

• Work that develops you - Access to UK and international recruitment, retained assignments and senior appointments that strengthen your skills and client relationships.

• Practical support - Coaching, mentoring and personalised training from people who understand recruitment because they still do it.

• Tools that add value to your service - Psychometric testing, our own online candidate evaluation platform and creative advertising support, helping you offer clients more than a shortlist.

• An established business to build within - Existing client relationships, colleagues to collaborate with and the opportunity to bring new business into the firm.

• Recognition for your contribution - A negotiable basic salary, uncapped monthly commission and the benefits listed above.

And what we’re looking for…

• A track record in recruitment - Evidence that you can build relationships, generate opportunities and deliver successful placements.

• Commercial appetite - You enjoy winning business and developing accounts, as well as finding the right candidate.

• Credibility with clients and candidates - You ask useful questions, listen carefully and get beyond the surface of a job description or CV.

• Strong delivery - You can research a market, engage candidates, assess suitability and keep an assignment moving.

• Ownership - You follow through on commitments, deal with challenges and ask for support when you need it.

• High standards - You care about the quality of your work and the reputation you build.

Experience in commercial, engineering, manufacturing or technical recruitment would be useful. Success in another specialist market could be just as relevant.

We’re interested in experienced permanent and executive search recruiters, and would also welcome conversations with interim and contract specialists looking to develop a practice here.

Whatever stage you’ve reached in your career, we’d like to understand what you’ve achieved and what you want to do next.
