Refrigeration Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a qualified and experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join their dedicated installation and maintenance team serving the Liverpool area. This vital role involves the installation, servicing, and repair of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems. You will ensure that critical cooling systems operate efficiently and reliably for a diverse range of clients. The ideal candidate is adept at diagnosing complex refrigeration issues, committed to high standards of workmanship, and focused on providing excellent customer service throughout Merseyside.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration units, walk-in coolers, freezers, and air conditioning systems.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments to identify system malfunctions and necessary repairs.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and energy efficiency.
• Respond to emergency service calls promptly and effectively resolve cooling system issues.
• Handle refrigerants safely and in compliance with all environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate service records and inventory of parts used.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Refrigeration Engineer or Commercial AC Technician.
• Relevant certifications in refrigeration and air conditioning (e.g., F-Gas certification).
• Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, electrical components, and control systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and refrigeration equipment.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
• A valid UK driving licence is required for site visits across Liverpool and surrounding regions.
