Regional H&S Manager

Location: Middlesbrough Salary: £55,000–£60,000 + package Job Type: Permanent

We are working with a well-established construction business to recruit a Regional H&S Manager to join their team in Middlesbrough.

This is a regional role covering a portfolio of construction projects across the North East, with a strong focus on maintaining high standards of health and safety across live sites while supporting project teams and management.

The business delivers a range of projects, largely across commercial and residential construction, alongside other construction and development schemes.

The Role

As Regional H&S Manager, you will provide senior H&S support across multiple projects, working closely with operational and site teams to ensure robust health and safety standards are maintained throughout project delivery.

You will also have responsibility for supporting and developing H&S processes, carrying out site visits and inspections, and providing practical advice to project teams.

Key Responsibilities

Provide regional H&S leadership across multiple construction projects

Carry out regular site visits, inspections and audits

*

Support site and project management teams with H&S matters

*

Ensure compliance with relevant H&S legislation, regulations and company procedures

Review RAMS, construction phase plans and other H&S documentation

*

Investigate incidents and support corrective actions where required

*

Identify risks and provide practical solutions to improve site standards

*

Assist with the development and implementation of H&S policies and procedures

Monitor and report on H&S performance across the region

*

Support and mentor H&S colleagues within the business

*

Work closely with operational teams to promote a positive safety culture

About You

The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction health and safety, ideally with experience working across multiple live projects rather than solely within an office-based environment.

You should be confident dealing with site and project teams, carrying out inspections and audits, reviewing documentation and providing practical H&S advice.

Experience across commercial, residential or general construction projects would be highly relevant.

A recognised H&S qualification such as NEBOSH Construction is expected, alongside relevant construction site experience. Membership of IOSH or equivalent professional body would be advantageous.
