Remote 3D Animator - Game Development

About the Role

Our client, a pioneering game development studio operating on a remote-first basis, is seeking a talented and imaginative 3D Animator . You will be responsible for bringing characters and environments to life through fluid and engaging animation, contributing significantly to the immersive worlds of our upcoming titles. This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to work from anywhere within the UK while collaborating with a passionate and experienced international team dedicated to creating groundbreaking gaming experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality character and environmental animations for video games, ensuring they are fluid, responsive, and visually compelling.
• Collaborate closely with game designers, artists, and directors to interpret animation requirements and achieve the desired aesthetic and gameplay feel.
• Implement animations using game engines and animation tools, optimizing for performance and visual fidelity.
• Develop and refine animation techniques, workflows, and tools to enhance production efficiency and quality.
• Provide constructive feedback on animation work from other team members and contribute to a culture of shared learning and improvement.

Requirements

• Proven professional experience as a 3D Animator in the video game industry, with a portfolio showcasing exceptional animation skills.
• Proficiency in industry-standard 3D animation software (e.g., Maya, Blender, 3ds Max) and game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine).
• Strong understanding of animation principles, including timing, spacing, weight, and bipedal/quadrupedal locomotion.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a distributed team environment, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
• Experience with motion capture cleanup and integration is a plus.
