Remote 3D Environment Artist

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a talented and imaginative 3D Environment Artist to join their globally distributed team, operating on a fully remote basis. This role is crucial for building the visually stunning and believable worlds that form the backbone of our cutting-edge entertainment projects. You will be responsible for crafting high-quality 3D assets, textures, and environments that bring virtual spaces to life, ensuring artistic consistency and technical performance. Working from anywhere, you will collaborate closely with a diverse team of artists, designers, and developers, contributing directly to the immersive experiences our players enjoy worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Model, sculpt, texture, and optimize 3D environment assets and props to a high standard.
• Assemble and set dress complex game environments within game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Collaborate with art directors and level designers to achieve specific artistic goals and gameplay requirements.
• Ensure all environment assets adhere to technical constraints, including polycount, texture memory, and draw calls.
• Create and maintain realistic or stylized materials and lighting setups for environments.
• Participate in asset reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience as a 3D Environment Artist with a strong portfolio showcasing high-quality environment art.
• Proficiency in industry-standard 3D modeling and sculpting software (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush).
• Expertise in 3D texturing tools such as Substance Painter and Designer.
• Familiarity with game engine environments (Unreal Engine, Unity) and their workflows.
• A keen eye for composition, colour, lighting, and detail in environmental design.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for a remote role.
