Remote Automotive Cybersecurity Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Remote Automotive Cybersecurity Analyst to bolster their security efforts from anywhere in the UK, supporting teams based in Reading . In this vital role, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating cybersecurity risks within connected vehicle systems and automotive IT infrastructure. You will work with cutting-edge technologies to protect vehicle data and ensure the integrity and safety of connected automotive ecosystems. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and a passion for the automotive industry, thriving in a fully remote, collaborative setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor automotive networks and systems for security threats, vulnerabilities, and anomalies using SIEM and other security tools.
• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses on automotive software, hardware, and connected services.
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and incident response plans tailored for the automotive sector.
• Investigate security incidents, perform forensic analysis, and recommend remediation strategies to prevent future occurrences.
• Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies relevant to the automotive industry, including ISO 21434 and UNECE WP.29.
• Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to integrate security best practices into the vehicle development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity analysis, with a focus on embedded systems or IoT security.
• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, protocols, and threat modeling.
• Experience with security monitoring tools, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDPS), and SIEM platforms.
• Understanding of automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Automotive Ethernet) and their security implications.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
