About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Remote Automotive Software Engineer to join their innovative product development team, operating from Reading . You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing embedded software solutions for next-generation automotive systems. This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge technologies, contributing to features that enhance vehicle performance, safety, and user experience, all within a fully remote environment. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and system architects, to deliver robust and high-quality software that meets stringent automotive standards, making a significant impact from your home office.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software for automotive control units and systems.
Implement software in C/C++ and other relevant programming languages, adhering to coding standards.
Develop and integrate software components for features such as driver assistance systems, infotainment, and powertrain control.
Utilize real-time operating systems (RTOS) and understand hardware-software interaction.
Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and system integration testing.
Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues in a remote setting.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in embedded software development, preferably within the automotive industry.
Strong proficiency in C/C++ and experience with embedded Linux or RTOS.
Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and software development tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative team.
