Remote Aviation Safety Manager

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and proactive Remote Aviation Safety Manager to lead their safety initiatives from anywhere in the UK. This is a critical role focused on developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive safety management systems (SMS) to ensure the highest standards of safety across all operational facets of the aviation business. You will be responsible for fostering a strong safety culture, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with all relevant aviation safety regulations. This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., EASA, CAA).
• Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety audits across all departments.
• Investigate safety incidents and occurrences, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Promote a positive safety culture through training, awareness campaigns, and stakeholder engagement.
• Monitor and analyze safety performance data, producing regular reports for senior management.
• Ensure the company remains compliant with all applicable aviation safety legislation and standards.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities on all safety-related matters.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in aviation safety management, preferably with a formal qualification (e.g., ICAO SMS for Aviation Professionals).
• Strong understanding of aviation regulations, safety principles, and risk management techniques.
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective Safety Management Systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with experience in remote team leadership.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
