About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Remote Avionics Software Developer to contribute to the design and implementation of cutting-edge avionics systems. This position involves developing embedded software for flight control, navigation, and communication systems, ensuring reliability, safety, and performance. Working entirely remotely, you will collaborate with a distributed team of engineers, contributing to the full software development lifecycle from requirements gathering to testing and deployment. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software for avionics systems using C/C++ and other relevant languages.
• Implement software components according to stringent safety standards (e.g., DO-178C) and project requirements.
• Collaborate with systems engineers and hardware engineers to define software requirements and architecture.
• Perform software integration, unit testing, and system testing to ensure software functionality and performance.
• Troubleshoot and debug software issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Significant experience in embedded software development , with a focus on real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages and a strong understanding of software engineering principles.
• Experience with avionics systems, flight control software, or related aerospace domains is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycles, version control systems (e.g., Git), and debugging tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively and independently in a remote setting from Portsmouth .
