Remote Beauty Product Developer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a creative and analytical Remote Beauty Product Developer to join their innovative product development team. This position will involve researching market trends, conceptualising new beauty products, and managing the product lifecycle from ideation through to launch, all within a remote-first operational framework. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, R&D, and manufacturing to bring cutting-edge beauty solutions to consumers worldwide, working autonomously and effectively in a virtual environment, and contributing to the company's growth as a leader in the beauty sector, based out of Birmingham but working from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and identify emerging beauty trends, ingredients, and consumer needs to inform product development.
• Conceptualise and develop new product formulations and specifications for skincare, makeup, and haircare lines.
• Manage the end-to-end product development process, including R&D, formulation, testing, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate closely with external manufacturers and suppliers to ensure product quality and timely production.
• Prepare detailed product briefs, costings, and marketing support materials for new product launches.
• Stay abreast of competitor activities and market dynamics to maintain a competitive product portfolio.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Marketing, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in beauty product development, formulation, or brand management.
• Strong understanding of cosmetic ingredients, manufacturing processes, and global regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote setting.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Proficiency in market research tools and product lifecycle management software.
