Remote Category Manager - Indirect Spend

Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Remote Category Manager to oversee the procurement of indirect spend categories. This leadership role is critical for optimizing spend, managing supplier relationships, and developing category strategies that align with business goals, all from a fully remote position. You will analyze spend patterns, identify cost-saving opportunities, and lead complex sourcing initiatives for a diverse range of non-operational goods and services. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies for indirect spend areas (e.g., IT, marketing, facilities, professional services), driving value and cost savings.
• Conduct in-depth spend analysis to identify opportunities for consolidation, negotiation, and process improvement.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing events, including RFPs, negotiations, and contract awards with key suppliers.
• Manage and develop relationships with strategic suppliers, ensuring performance, innovation, and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and align procurement strategies accordingly.
• Monitor market intelligence and economic trends to inform category strategies and anticipate potential disruptions.

Requirements

• Proven experience (5+ years) as a Category Manager or senior Procurement professional, with a strong focus on indirect spend.
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing category strategies that deliver significant cost savings and value.
• Expertise in contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and risk management frameworks.
• Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in spend analysis tools and techniques.
