Remote Chemical Engineer - Process Design

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Remote Chemical Engineer specializing in Process Design to join their globally distributed team. This position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, focusing on conceptual and FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) stages of chemical projects. You will be responsible for developing innovative process designs, creating P&IDs, performing mass and energy balances, and ensuring that designs meet all technical, safety, and environmental requirements. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in a remote work environment and excels at collaborating virtually.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and detailed process designs for new chemical plants and process modifications.
• Create and manage Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Perform thorough mass and energy balance calculations using industry-standard software.
• Specify major process equipment and define operating conditions.
• Conduct safety reviews and ensure compliance with relevant industry codes and standards.
• Collaborate effectively with remote engineering teams, clients, and stakeholders through virtual platforms.

Requirements

• BEng or MSc in Chemical Engineering .
• Minimum 5 years of experience in process design, preferably in an EPC or consultancy environment.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD) and CAD tools for P&ID development.
• Strong understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals and design principles.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage project deliverables in a remote setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in virtual collaboration tools.
