About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chemical Process Development Specialist to join their global team on a fully remote basis, supporting their research and manufacturing centers including those near Norwich, Norfolk . This advanced role focuses on the research, development, and optimization of innovative chemical processes, particularly for new product introductions and enhancements to existing lines. You will be a key contributor to translating laboratory discoveries into scalable, robust, and cost-effective manufacturing solutions, working collaboratively with international teams. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and scale-up of novel chemical processes from concept through to commercialization.
- Utilize advanced process modeling and simulation techniques to optimize process design and identify critical parameters.
- Design and execute laboratory and pilot-scale experiments to validate process feasibility and performance.
- Conduct thorough process hazard assessments and implement safety protocols.
- Develop comprehensive process documentation, including SOPs and batch records.
- Collaborate with cross-functional global teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure successful technology transfer and implementation.
Requirements
- PhD or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field with a strong focus on process development.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in chemical process R&D and scale-up.
- Expertise in statistical process control, Design of Experiments (DoE), and process optimization methodologies.
- Proven experience with various unit operations (e.g., reaction, distillation, crystallization, filtration).
- Excellent remote communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
- Track record of successfully bringing new chemical processes to manufacturing scale.
