About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Remote Chemical Process Engineer to join their dynamic team, supporting operations across the UK from a remote capacity. This role focuses on the meticulous design, analysis, and optimization of chemical processes, contributing to the development of sustainable and efficient manufacturing solutions. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the high standards of our client's chemical production, working independently and collaborating with distributed teams to achieve project goals. This position offers the unique advantage of working from home while making a significant impact on innovative chemical engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop detailed process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for chemical plants and equipment.
- Perform process calculations, including mass and energy balances, to optimize operational efficiency and minimize waste.
- Conduct feasibility studies and techno-economic analyses for new process technologies and modifications.
- Utilize process simulation software to model and predict process performance under various operating conditions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve process issues encountered during pilot plant operations or full-scale production, providing remote support and guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering .
- At least 5 years of professional experience in chemical process engineering, with a strong emphasis on design and analysis.
- Proficiency in using process simulation tools like Aspen HYSYS or ChemCAD.
- Solid understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and separation processes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with proven ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
