Remote Chemical Process Safety Specialist

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a dedicated Remote Chemical Process Safety Specialist to enhance their safety culture and compliance across their operations. This role will focus on ensuring the highest levels of safety are embedded in all chemical processes, from design through to operation, enabling you to work from home while making a significant impact. You will be responsible for conducting risk assessments, developing safety protocols, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. This is a crucial role for maintaining operational integrity and protecting personnel and the environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
• Develop and implement robust Process Safety Management (PSM) systems and procedures.
• Perform risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies for chemical processes.
• Investigate safety incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant national and international safety regulations and standards.
• Provide training and guidance to engineering and operations teams on process safety best practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience specifically in process safety engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of hazard identification techniques and risk assessment methodologies.
• Proven experience in conducting and documenting PHAs and PSM audits.
• Familiarity with relevant safety legislation and industry standards.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, suitable for remote collaboration.
