Remote Chief Geologist - Mineral Resource Estimation

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Chief Geologist to lead their mineral resource estimation efforts, operating remotely from anywhere within the UK. This senior role is fundamental to accurately defining and quantifying the company's mineral assets, guiding strategic exploration and development decisions. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of geological modelling, resource classification, and reporting according to international standards (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101). Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the geological team responsible for mineral resource estimation and modelling.
• Develop and implement robust methodologies for geological data acquisition, validation, and interpretation.
• Oversee the creation and maintenance of high-quality 3D geological models and resource block models.
• Ensure all resource estimations and reporting comply with relevant international codes and standards.
• Provide expert geological advice to senior management, exploration teams, and project developers.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and techniques in geological modelling and resource estimation.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Geology, Economic Geology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mineral resource estimation and geology.
• Demonstrated expertise in leading geological teams and managing complex projects.
• Proficiency with advanced geological modelling software (e.g., Micromine, Vulcan, Leapfrog Geo).
• Extensive experience with JORC, NI 43-101, or other international resource reporting codes.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for effective remote leadership.
