Remote Mine Geologist - Resource Estimation

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Remote Mine Geologist specializing in Resource Estimation to join their global team. This position is essential for accurately assessing the quantity and quality of mineral resources, forming the foundation for strategic mine planning and economic evaluations. You will work from a remote location, leveraging advanced geological modeling software and data analysis tools to interpret exploration data and generate robust resource models. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of geological principles, statistical methods, and industry-standard resource estimation techniques. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced geologist to contribute significantly to project viability and corporate strategy without the need for on-site presence, focusing entirely on the analytical and modeling aspects of resource assessment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and validate geological models using exploration data (drilling, sampling, geophysics).
• Perform statistical analysis and geostatistical modeling for resource estimation.
• Apply industry-standard resource estimation methodologies (e.g., kriging, inverse distance weighting).
• Prepare comprehensive resource and reserve reports compliant with relevant codes (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101).
• Collaborate with mining engineers and other stakeholders to ensure models are fit for purpose.
• Maintain and update geological databases and modeling software.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geology, Geostatistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in resource estimation for mining projects.
• Proficiency with geological modeling and resource estimation software (e.g., Leapfrog Geo, Surpac, Datamine).
• Strong understanding of geostatistics and statistical analysis techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects remotely.
